Annette Reilly is an award-winning filmmaker and actor, known for her role as Diana Spellman, Sabrina’s mortal mother, in the Netflix original “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. Growing up in small town Alberta, she pursued her love of theatre with a BFA from UVic and was eventually led to film in an effort to bring pressing social justice issues into cinematic storytelling. Her recent film, “A Typical Fairytale” (which she directed, produced, and acted in), was nominated for 4 Leo Awards, won a Best Film award at the Seattle Children’s Film Festival, Best Art Direction from the Okotoks Film Festival, an honourable mention at the NSI Film Festival, and several Finalist awards. It is now part of the Out-In-Schools program, an in-school initiative to teach diversity and inclusivity to Canadian youth. Annette is the 2020 recipient of the WIFTV Production Manager Mentorship, sponsored by William F Whites International. She has been selected as one of 25 national participants in the Netflix Diversity of Voices Pitch Program at the BANFF World Media Festival 2021. She has also received a Telefilm grant this year to develop a feature film with the Vancouver based female comedy duo The After Party Girls and Motion 58 Entertainment (Adventures In Public School, Eadweard).
