At the heart of every artist there lies a pulse of creativity. Once that pulse manifests, it lies at the core of what keeps the world rotating. As an artist, I live to be able to manifest creativity as it is perceived differently from person to person. Life is a collection of experiences that shape and mold our futures. Therefore, people’s own experiences will determine how they view your perspective. My goal as an artist is to have as many people tap into my pulse. Filmmaker, Media Specialist, Artist. Whichever you choose to classify me as, just know my goal is to stray as far away from being cliche’ as possible. My path to becoming a filmmaker was laid out for me before I fully understood it would be my destination. I began writing in the form of songs and poems at the age of eleven. Music always served as a pulse that kept me existing. Over the years I began conceptualizing unique story lines and characters for my songs. I started gaining experience in TV production while still in high school. It was there I got my first true taste of writing, directing, acting, and producing. Years later I took those skills and launched a TV show by the name of Swagger TV. Swagger TV was locally broadcast in Charlotte, NC, but my ingenuity led me to push the envelope further. I conceptualized an idea to put my TV show online for the world to see. Years later I turned that TV show into the world’s first online Urban Media Network. Viewers globally logged on to watch an array of original programming that was selected to be streamed. With years of experience in writing and production I then chose to take my craft to the next level by enrolling in film school. It was there I realized that my true calling was to be a filmmaker. The path I’d chosen provided me with the experience necessary to become a highly sought after independent filmmaker. Understanding Audio/video production, storytelling, and leading a team are all qualities that I feel separates me from others early in my filmmaking career. The Michael Foster Experience is a creative vision encompassing my passion to provide the world with a cinematic view of my perspective.
