Kamal Imani is an internationally known spoken word performance poet who has performed at major venues throughout the United States. He has appeared in several independent films performing spoken word, rapping and acting. As a poet, he created a lot of videos and later a movie entitled "Up in the Attic" which was an old school 1980's hip hop themed coming of age story. Kamal is a motivational speaker, relationship author and teacher who has worked in the special education system for over 10 years. His new film series "Special is the New Normal" highlights some of the unknown abuses and subtleties that go on in special education schools in America.
