Godefroy Ryckewaert was born on August 24, 1986 in Lille, France. With a passion rooted in martial arts since the age of 16, he began trainning in various styles of Chinese Kungfu, and lived in China for 5 years before eventually becoming a national champion in his own country in 2011. A year before, Godefroy decide to become full-fledged filmmaker. He now spends most of his time behind the camera and has directed where his experience in martial arts and stunts are assets. Self-taught, from 2012 to 2019, he won a few awards thanks to his short-films made in different parts of the world. His work in on Netflix with JAILBREAK, Cambodian action movie, for which he was director of photography. He recently won a big contest with a short-film involving more than 50 stuntmen. Back on Netflix with THE WITCHER, he helps in the creation of the action sequences.
